Liz Hill
Mason's
On Main Street Gallery (207 Midway St, Old Town Spring) invites you
to the Opening Night for local artist, Liz Hill. The event is
from 5-8p.m. on Saturday, August 30. Refreshments are provided.
Her show will run until September 25. Gallery hours are 10 to
5 daily.
Ms. Hill specializes in watercolor; however, not using the usual
watercolor methods. She works in a contemporary style of water media
incorporating all kinds of paint and techniques including glazing, stamping,
texturing and some collage methods to make an exciting painting on canvas
or paper. Her style makes for a very different figurative painting.
Don't miss this opportunity to view something unique and meet Liz.
Liz also teaches and holds workshops and is offering classes to be held
at Mason's Gallery on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon. Details
are available at the gallery and will soon be available on line at www.masonsgallery.com
.
Among those open on this night will be Wimberly Valley Wines and
The Garden of the Dragonfly Gallery. If you have visitors for
the Holiday weekend, bring them for a fun and informative diversion.

Opening Reception for Greg Lewis Photography & Poetry, representational,
from 5-8 p.m. for details call the gallery @ 281-528-9474
Mason’s
Gallery, 207 Midway Street in Old Town Spring will be hosting a reception
for Greg Lewis on Saturday night, October 25th from 5 until 8. Refreshments
are provided and there will be door prize drawings around 7. This is
Mr. Lewis’ first solo show and well worth seeing. He is working
on a book of poetry and photography and some of the pictures being shown
will be in that book. 10% discount on purchases for those dressed in
costume.
Gregory Lewis was born and raised in College Station, Texas. He is a
1990 graduate of Texas A&M University with a major in psychology.
He began his professional career as Director of an adult day care facility
that provided care for senior citizens and disabled adults. For the
last 14 years he has worked as a Supervisor with the Brazos County Community
Supervision and Corrections Dept. (adult probation).
In recent years Gregory had neglected his creativity
to focus on his career and domestic projects. 2006 marked the re-emergence
of Gregory’s interest in writing poetry and in photography. Years
of working in the atmosphere of criminal justice depleted Gregory’s
creative juices. He began writing again and taking photographs to rediscover
his true self and to reconnect to his inner voice.
The angel project reflects respect for those who have gone before us,
but not before imparting knowledge to carry us through. Gregory’s
poetry is about his own personal angels. His photographs are representations
of the spirits of these angels or reflecting the emotion of the poem.
Oct
